Biography
I was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV and moved to Flagstaff, AZ in 2017 to attend Northern Arizona University. I began working as an undergraduate research assistant under Dr. Jason Sahl in 2018 at the Pathogen and Microbiome Institute (PMI), where my research was focused on both wet lab and bioinformatic analyses of the bacterial pathogens E. coli, C. difficle, and A. baumannii. One of my favorite areas of research was investigating antimicrobial resistance (AMR). After graduating with my Bachelor’s degree, I stayed at PMI to do my Master’s research, which was titled “Wastewater: A Surveillance Sentinel for Bacterial Pathogens and Antimicrobial Resistance Dissemination”. Upon completion of my Master’s, I moved to College Station and joined the Chapkin Lab as a research associate! I look forward to learning new research skills in the Chapkin Lab.
