Biography
I am a Ph.D. student in Electrical & Computer Engineering. Before returning to graduate school, I was employed by an IN-VITRO DIAGNOSTICS company in Japan developing healthcare applications. In this capacity, I developed and prototyped compact instruments for a rapid and highly sensitive immunoassay. I filed some of my work for a US patent.
Research
Currently, I am working as a research assistant in Dr. James Cai’s lab, where we are studying the genetic basis of phenotypic variability and developing computational tools to identify genetic variants that dominate complex traits. Consistent with this goal, we are collaborating with the Dr. Chapkin lab, where I will have the opportunity to work with experts in Cancer Stem Cell/Tumor Biology. This will allow me to apply my innovative critical thinking skills to solve challenging computational problems, thereby enriching the quality of our current research.
