Undergraduate, Majoring in Biochemistry and Genetics at Texas A&M University.
I was born in Seoul, South Korea and came to Austin, Texas my freshman year in high school. I double majored in biochemistry and genetics to further my study in understanding numerous diseases and illnesses. Moreover, after taking a honors nutrition class I was inspired in approaching cancer and chronic inflammatory diseases in the perspective of dietary/microbial modulators. Kyung is on the Dean’s Honor Roll, Distinguished Student List and recipient of the Dewitt C & Bethel Winter Cox award.
In the lab I will be learning cell culture techniques with HAP1 cells, how to passage and freeze cells, culture HAP1,HAP1-AR1 KO, HAP1-AR2 KO, and analyze results relating our research to diet, obesity, and colorectal cancer.
